PRIVATE PRIMARY

From the Desk of the Head of Primary
2018 will be the school year of setting and reaching attainable goals, working harder and smarter and taking our school and student achievement to the next level of SUCCESS. We are dedicated to apply the student-centered approaches that promote academic excellence through an enriched, rigorous inter-disciplinary curriculum. To ensure every child reaches his/her fullest academic potential, we need the parents’ support and co-operation. We look forward to work with you, our parents and the members of the community to provide high-quality education that your child deserves.
This year, our pupils can look forward to a highly intensive and challenging academic program that will push them to work beyond their limits. With the continuity of DLP program, World Maths and World Science in our time table, After School Chinese Language Program, Introducing Korean Language as one of the foreign languages and Cambridge Checkpoint Examination for Year 6 pupils, I really hope that all our pupils will take this opportunities to get the benefits from our new programs. Besides that, our goal is to ensure that our pupils will become future critical thinkers, active problem-solvers and inquisitive readers. We do all of these to prepare them for the demands of the real-world so they may become productive citizens, become our future leaders, and contribute and/or give back something positive to the community.
I look forward to work with all the staff and parents to pushing our young generation towards academic heights. On behalf of the primary school, I want to welcome all of you and to thank you for being a part of Bestari Primary School community where SUCCESS IS NOT AN OPTION.. BUT AN EXPECTATION. We are truly on the path to SUCCESS.

International Books for English, World Maths & World Science
Cambridge University Press Primary Maths is a complete maths course that uses a problem solving approach to learn maths, engaging pupils in the lesson by asking questions that make pupils think and activities that encourage them to explore and practice. It also encourages fun and collaborative group work in order to instill the pupils’ interest in mathematics.
To meet the challenges in the future, pupils need to develop their facilities with both conversational and academic English. From the earliest level, Cambridge Global English addresses both these competencies. Cambridge Global English presents authentic listening and reading text, writing tasks and culminating unit projects. To develop the best skill in listening, speaking, writing and reading pupils need to be successful in using authentic English language classroom materials.
Mandarin After School Programme
Sri Bestari Private School in responding to the call from the community in providing the balance between the acquisition of English, Bahasa Melayu as well as the push towards mastering Mandarin, our Kindergarten and Primary school have aptly responded. At Kindergarten, a specific class have been assigned to use Mandarin as the language for instruction where students are prepared to be able to assimilate into Primary school with a strong Mandarin focus. At Sri Bestari Private Primary school, from Standard 1 to Standard 6 students have an option between Mandarin, French, Korean and Japanese as an additional foreign language. For students who select Mandarin, additional and supplementary classes will be provided after school hours to prepare students for the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) examination. Therefore, besides the internal Mandarin school examinations, students will be able to sit for the HSK as well as UPSR Mandarin paper and with this intensive focus on the mastering of all 3 languages i.e. English, Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin, students will be rest assured a strong command of these languages going into Secondary school at Form 1.
HSK - Chinese Proficiency Test
Consist of 6 levels HSK writing test and 3 levels HSKK speaking test.
Serves as an internationally recognise benchmark to adult learners for academic pursuit and working needs.
After School Preparatory Classes
Classes will be carried out from Monday to Friday during school days only as an after school day care service for primary pupil. Homework guidance, Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) teaching & learning, indoor & outdoor games / activities, afternoon tea are part of the activities.
Inquiry Based Science Education (IBSE) Teaching Approach
IBSE approaches focus on student inquiry as the driving force for learning. Teaching is organised around student’s questions and problems in a highly student-centred inquiry process. In IBSE, students learn through inquiry rather than by teachers presenting content knowledge.
Students progressively develope key ideas through learning how to investigate, build their knowledge and understanding of the world around. They will use skills employed by scientists such as raising questions, collecting data, reasoning and reviewing evidence in the light of what is already known, drawing conclusions and discussing results. This learning process is all supported by an inquiry-based pedagogy, where pedagogy is taken to mean not only the act of teaching but also its underpinning justifications.
